When do members have to file for Philhealth?
If an out-patient procedure is to be done,Philhealth claim must be filed.
If a member is confined, Philhealth claim must be filed on or before discharge.

If a member has a private doctor and was advised to undergo series of lab tests, how can he use his card for those tests if his private doctor is not accredited by his healthcard?
The member must first seek medical attention from an accredited doctor and the accredited doctor will be the one to issue a referral slip for the laboratory tests. The member then goes to the coordinator for the issuance of a letter of authority for the laboratory tests, before a member can undergo the tests.

If a member happens to have 2 active healthcards, can he use both cards for medical concerns?
No. The member can only use one healthcard and it will be the member who will choose which healthcard he/she will be using.

If a member needs emergency treatment, will he still go to the coordinator's office?
No. The member will just proceed to the Emergency Room of an accredited hospital and present his card. If a member goes to a non-accredited hospital, he must first pay the charges and reimburse the same.
